I am looking for a hack also before i decide to buy my parents this machine as a present, can you tell me does it play VCD/SVCD....i am reading it from the cataloge and it does,nt say anything about VCD playback.
Can you confirm.

Got this 4th July 2002 Setup, OSD, remote, are the same as Mico Clasica 20. I have tried the Mico & Goodmans hacks but they don`t work. Only plays DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, MP3, Audio CD. Does not play SVCD or VCD. Nice looking player very slim & good picture Also very strong build. My 4 yr old granson fell on it bum first. (before I had time to put it away) All that happend was picture frooze for a couple of seconds then carried on playing.

I just got one and I can confirm it does not play VCD or SVCD out of the box. Looking around various websites it does seem that some Goodmans makes have hacks to enable VCD and SVCD support so fingers crossed... a region hack would also be very welcome.
