I bought the said (LG DV5822P) DVD player yesterday, and haven`t been able to find anything on this model on the internet. Any help on how to unlock the multi region code would be much appreciated. Thankyou.

It is rumoured that the disc mentioned in the LG5083 thread works for the whole 5000 series. The file is called LG5000.zip.

Turn player on, make sure no disc is in it Wait until `no disc` appears on display pause `pause` on remote enter `314159` on remote if entered correctly code `x` will appear on display, where x is current region code enter region code required, ie, 1 for region 1 etc, enter `0` for multi region press `pause` on remote turn player off, and wait at least 5 seconds turn on again and voila, you now have a multi region player
