Hot innit?
Thought I might as well mention the bleeding obvious thing that we all seem to be ignoring.
Yes, thankfully not in Ventnor, here it is just... very very warm.

35°C here.
Short break yesterday for Tea and a wee and I had to put the cab radio (smartphone) in the freezer for a few minutes as it had shut down.
Home early now as I can't be arsed driving about in it.

I am not young enough to know everything.
Currently 35c here too according to apps (just south of the London superhot red zone).
I was supposed to be sanding and paint spraying a metal door today/tomorrow right out in direct sun but am putting it off until next week.
i'm working out pros and cons of working from home and going into office to decide what to do this week
pro - office is air conditioned, nice and cool, only a few people go in
cons - 30-60mins in car there and again back (car has no air con, it broke a few years ago, and didn't seem worth the £100s to get it fixed)

Ditto. And even the fan doesn't work. I've had it re-gassed, leak checked, etc. Probably £100s to get fixed as you say. Had one fixed on a previous car cost £300, used for a few months before car caput and did EXACT same thing on the car I had previous to that. Not very lucky with aircon.
Just an observation on car air cons.
Re gassing can be relatively cheap, I think there's one round here doing it for about £60.00.
When ever you get your car serviced, in my experience, they never replace the pollen filter unless specifically asked which can screw up the air con and stop your demist blower being any use in winter.
Bloody annoying as they're not expensive. I've got to do Mrs Snaps Kuga and I think it's eleven quid.

It's okay, it was hot in 1976 once and we just dealt with it... apparently. No wonder the planet is in this mess, the country is literally on fire and people are going "this is fine"

I think this is what they call 'shot, chaser'
Shot: "Get over it snowflakes, it's called WEATHER!!!"
Chaser: "THE COUNTRY IS ON FIRE BECAUSE OF THE RECORD HEATWAVE!!!"
