Page 1 of Craig, Daniel Craig
General Forum
Just a heads up that the Daniel Craig Bonds will be leaving Amazon Prime in just over a week.
Currently three in, doing one a night.
Last night the joy of watching Skyfall, best of the three so far, and being able to fast forward past that bloody dirge of a theme tune.

Here's a quesrion...
What was the last Bond Theme you really liked?
For me, it was Licence to Kill by Gladys Knight. Although I have a soft spot for Madonna's Die Another Day. The bit up to and including the opening credits was the only good thing in the film.

Think I did a poll about themes a few years ago. Can't remember what came out on top though.
A personal favourite was always Goldeneye. But You Know My Name is getting up there lately

Apart from the early ones I'd struggle to remember any so I'll have to go back and have a listen.
I suppose you could say that's a plus for Skyfall, at least it drew some reaction from me even if it was hatred.

Found the poll results, from way back in 2006, so some of the more recent efforts obviously won't be included.
(Poll selections were the top 2 of 3 previous polls)

The last one I liked was The World Is Not Enough, but then I do like Garbage!

Since this is now a Bond theme thread, I'll take this opportunity to highlight a couple of lesser known but equally great choices. Some Bond films have secondary songs which play over the credits.
For example, the one I mentioned on the poll thread above. KD Lang's 'Surrender', originally written for Tomorrow Never Dies but consigned to the end credits after they replaced it with the Sheryl Crow song. I have since upgraded this to my favourite Bond song of all time.
Next up, The Living Daylights actually has two additional songs performed by The Pretenders and written in collaboration with John Barry. Each one is based on a secondary leitmotif from the film - the love theme and the theme for the character of Necros, respectively. I always loved the scene where Necros turns up at the MI6 safehouse listening to his own theme tune on his walkman. What a badass!
For The World Is Not Enough, David Arnold had intended for the film to end with this song playing over the credits, but director Michael Apted felt that it was too downbeat. I can see why...
Special mention goes to Shirley Bassey's 'No Good About Goodbye'. David Arnold has said that this was not originally intended to be the title song for Quantum of Solace, but it literally use the main theme from the film and sounds incredibly Bondian nonetheless:
So five days five Bonds.
Up to date now but where do they go next?
Am I out of the loop because I can't find much with a quick search.
Tom Holland is mentioned so I'm guessing they're not going radical and continuing with Lashana Lynch as I'm sure there would have been more uproar. An interesting direction to maybe split the franchise though.

after the last one I honestly couldn't care less, I thought this was the worst bond film of all with the 100% worst villain, unless they go back to the beginning its going to be a massive disappointment no matter who takes over
