I dunno. Joe's turned the numbers around and he's ahead in the polls again. Most of the GOP faithful know how much of a disaster Trump was, but they're still pandering to him without supporting him as they know they need the psychopath vote to bump their numbers.

I think the last year, Biden has tried to be the Biden he always was, the bipartisan negotiator, trying to do politics the old way, making deals.

Unfortunately the old politics is dead. It's gone tribal, with or against us, and the bottom line is that 70 percent of Republicans believe that the election was stolen, and nothing will convince them otherwise. A convenient lie is a lot easier to believe than the inconvenient truth, and it seems accepting that Trump incited the riot means accepting that you were wrong in voting for him to begin with.

With the midterms coming up, and a tanking economy, a deadlocked senate (thanks to a couple of MAGA Democrats) and a pandemic crisis exacerbated by the partisan politicking anti-vax, anti-mask idiocy, Biden must have realised that to do well in any vote, he'll have to depend on motivating the democratic base instead of trying to change GOP hearts and minds. And that's easiest done by relying on the politics of hate, making Trump the bogeyman.

The trouble with that approach is that Trump is better at it, and has been doing it for the last ten years. With that much practice, he'll walk 2024, assuming his wizened heart keeps beating that long, and even if he doesn't last the distance, there are plenty more in his image willing to run the GOP, and worse, they'll be hateful and competent.

Trump is less popular now than he was at the election, but also he's infected the Rep party so deeply that they haven't been able to reject him and all his crazies.

Added to that they spend so much time and money every year, every year, for many years, trying to decrease the number of non-Rep voters, I want to disagree with you but also it's hard to.

He should have stacked the Supreme Court by now to swing it's heavy right win bias, but he's scared to rock the boat.

'We didn't and aren't saying anything but we've applied to the court to unseal the warrant and property list'

Trump is the one who went public and already had the details of the warrant and property list but apparently chose to deny it to his son who said he hadn't been given them.

Once the list is released expect Trump to insist anything incriminating was planted.

Pass the popcorn.

So Trump *allegedly* hording nuclear weapons secrets in his stashed papers. To sell to highest bidder possibly? Yeah completely normal.

Given the length of time anything legal takes in the States Trump will be hanging this out until the 2024 election.

My prediction for that is if he doesn't get the republican nomination he'll stand as 'The real republican party' and will claim victory whatever the result.

Resulting in severe civil unrest that will make Jan 6th look like a church social meeting. We could be witnessing the last days of democracy, such as it is, in America.

We can only hope that the level and type of offences are sufficient to prevent him standing which I'm far from confident will happen.
