It doesn't surprise me (like that clip of Elizabeth) that a proportion of these people thought it was just a jolly jape. Trump and his rallies normalised QAnon. I bet a bunch of people there had no idea they were running around with people wearing nazi tattoos and t-shirts.

After all, they had the backing of the President of the United States.

Who needs an opposite?

What we need is that those in the most need will be prioritised regardless of who they are.

This is not a Trump vs Biden thing.  This is a unifying the country thing, which is what Biden insisted he was going to do.  Some of the comments underneath his tweet from those in groups he's prioritising are amongst those most objecting to this.

At some point you have to recognise your privilidge. You can't agree with wanting everyone to have equal opportunities without agreeing with steps to give them that.

This is the real problem with change. Equality costs people with privilidge, which makes it so hard to achieve.

We live in a society and on a planet with limited resources, you can't make some people more equal to others without adjusting the scales.

Disagree completely.

You can recognise that others may well have benefit over others in the past, but then adjusting the scales then makes other people benefit over others which will also lead to resentment.

Case in point is this help for small businesses that Biden is talking about.

If you have a pool of 100 existing businesses that are mixed in terms of owners and/or workforce, then I would expect those in the most need to be prioritised regardless of whether they got a bit more of a leg-up earlier on.

What I would not expect is that a business that is not struggling as much but owned by a woman (as an example) to be prioritised over ANY other business that is struggling more.

But that's just me...

And Pete's fine picture is a prime example of that.  That clearly shows that no one should be unnecessarily disadvantaged and everyone has an equal chance of being raised up.

And privilege is not defined in as simple terms as you seem to be implying, but then I guess we're now wandering into the Critical Race Theory space.
