It's okay, next year you can just go and edit this post to be whatever right is, and then blatantly lie to people in a press conference about how you knew and said it all along!

That's just not fair, the man's done nothing wrong.  Ethically, legally, morally, nothing so stop that.  Unless I've mistakenly assumed you were referring to something else of course.

Spain deaths yesterday 2
UK 324.
It's really quite frightening how our government seem to be demonstrating their ineptitude on a daily, if not hourly, basis.

A track and trace training story...
I know of similar stories of people I know who volunteered to be one of the helpers for government. No, they weren't called upon.
Still, I assume we're at level 1 on the Nandos scale now as the vulnerable can go out soon too. What could possibly go wrong?
Not that they have told the GP's of these people though - headlines appear to be far more important than actual patient care.
More and more false hopes, more and more scientists saying things are happening too early and more and more police forces saying the lockdown is basically being ignored now.
Still I believe horseracing will be back soon. Ignore that we're still recording thousands and thousands of cases a day.
Literally carry on regardless.

A track and trace training story...LOL, what a typical UK  farce.

Reminded me of a safety course i was on, and the trainer had to be taken away by ambulance, after dropping his steel fire extinguisher slap bang on his foot

(he should have worn steel toe capped shoes)

BBC flashes up a headline...

Quote:
Coronavirus: UK exceeds 200,000 testing capacity target

Sounds good, until you realise it only means capacity! Actual tests in the last 24 hours is just over 100,000

Reminds me of the good old days when the government used to massage unemployment figures and hospital waiting time figures. Boris said we'd be doing 200,000 by June the 1st. Capacity don't mean jack!

Have heard some (admittedly anecdotal) stories of hospitals being told to gear up for 2nd wave in July. Don't think anyone would fall off their chair having heard that though.

I mean, where are we going with this? What's the big plan?

I hear that there's only around 24 new cases in London but we're still getting 8000 new cases a day overall in the UK.

To use a crappy football analogy, it feels like we've gone 3-0 down after 10mins of terrible defending and somehow we still have to turn it round to win the game.

You hit the nail right on the head but the 100,000 you mention does include tests that have been posted out and not necessarily completed yet, There for the 100,000 could be more like 90,000 actual completed tests.
