I think they've finally got free rapid flow tests but it's limited to something like 3 per household?
I am thinking of having my eyes done here, obviously that's going private, and I was talking to a work friend and found out how much it would cost in the US... 5 times. So much for market economics.

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
I've long been fascinated by US medical costs, which seem utterly outrageous to us, particularly if you are uninsured.
If you have a baby and they take the baby and hand it to the mother for skin on skin contact, that's a $40 charge. If they give a child a Teddy bear to hold in an ambulance, I believe that's a similar charge.
Remember a large swathe of the tory/ukip party want our healthcare privatised.
RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
All self-isolation laws potentially scrapped by the end of the month.
Should be interesting.

Time for me to read up on latest guidelines, but staying at home seems sensible/right thing to do to me.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-people-with-covid-19-and-their-contacts/covid-19-people-with-covid-19-and-their-contacts
one of the kids complained of a bit of a headache when she got in from school Friday, looked a bit pale, said she didn't feel great, missus did lateral flow test on her...negative,
as the evening went on she was shivering, said her legs really hurt, didn't feel hot to touch, but had a bit of a temperature, the legs aching and shivering was more the worry, so after 30mins waiting on phone to 111, spoke to a dr who suggested despite lft being negative, take her to drive through in morning, as in her opinion sounded like covid, if not probably just a virul infection, so in any case expect her to feel unwell few days, just give paracetol, ibuprofen, drink fluids.
took her to walk in test centre yesterday morning, got email and text this morning to say she tested positive for covid. i just took lateral flow test, negative, however, missus said she felt a bit rough yesterday, me and the other kid feel fine, so I guess we'll probably start to feel it over next few days, missus and me have both had 2 jabs and booster.
I've been going into the office 2 days a week, working from home 3 days a week, so to me it seems sensible to just work from home all 5 days, even if I am "allowed" to go to the office, I'm sure my boss and colleagues would rather I stay home :)
the wierd thing is, the other kid from what I understand can go to school as normal, which just seems wrong to me, no wonder an email from the school on Friday said they've got a few more members of staff than normal off with it, with restrictions being relaxed, and numbers up again.
the paracetmol spaced through the day seems to work on her, which is the main thing, and she's back to bickering with her sister as normal while playing Roblox :)

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
Since Ukraine kicked off it's very much been 'What's Covid' in the media and it's also gone comparatively quiet on my Twitter feed.
Obviously going to be a spike and I don't really get the 'We can see no reason for it' as all the restrictions are off apart from personal ones from sensible folk such as yourself.
It does seem that the vast majority of hospitalisations are for the non jabbed and I saw one nurse quoted saying she hadn't had a single anti vaxxer who had refused any of the treatments, involving needles and IV drips.

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
Interesting, Saturday we had to give her paracetamol throughout the day as she felt rough, yesterday, none, and she was pretty much her normal self.
today, you'd never know she had been/is ill, so if we hadn't dialed 111, she'd be in school today, so I'm glad she bounced back quickly, but I can now see 1st hand how it can spread so easily

unclean, unclean.
so, day 5 so did lateral flow test on kid who was positive, she was positive on lateral flow test now, but feels fine, back to normal
i woke up feeling a bit crap, headache, sore throat, i've had worse colds, but did lateral flow test, positive.
missus has been feeling crap last few days, still negative,so is wondering now if she isn't doing test right
other kid is feeling fine, was negative, but she screamed the house down when swab got near her nose :(

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
I have heard lots of stories of people being negative in the LFT but not the PCR.
Good luck, feel better soon!
