Is it?
I mean any more than we already knew.
I know damn well where I've been and what I've been doing is available to anyone with the nous to look for it.
As for de-identifying, yeh right.

As the Public Health Agency of Canada is being investigated by the Canadian privacy watchdog, I'd say yes...

GDPR stops that in Europe I think, although our problem is more the other way around, the government selling off anonymised NHS data.

It should but I see no real understanding from political parties about the data protection principles contained within the GDPR regulations:

The punishments are too small :( Much like polluting of rivers is cheaper to pay the fines than fix the infrastructure.
And also much like when our politicians do bad things. If they were personally liable for the decisions they made, I think we would get better politicians.

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
I sincerely hope that after 2 years it is officially over. I’ve read that a lot of experts say this with Omicron is actually a great thing and that Corona is stopping

RE: Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
It isn't over just because people are fed up with it. And I have not read one 'expert' who says Omicron is 'a great thing' just because it may be a milder variant. Tell that to the thousand people a week who are dying.
Letting a pandemic rip may lead to weaker variants over time or may well lead to more deadly ones. Pretending it's gone away is the worst possible take.

I think what you're saying is that we're at the point we can think about lifting restrictions and trying to get back to 'normal', living with COVID in the same way as we do with flu, etc.
Is that right?
It's not over and even the milder version can cause serious problems for some people, like flu already does.
The other thing to note is that just because we now have a milder Omicron variant doesn't mean all the other variants have vanished.
