Bush fire hell in Australia

The TV does not do it justice it is one big hell fire in Oz, never seen such damage to the bushlands, everyone is saying they have never seen it so bad, even for the last 60 years.

Trees burned out, animals mostly mammals hurt burned or dying, houses and farmlands destroyed. Even people dead. Oh, the reptiles know how to survive by hitting the water or burying themselves underground.

I would like to say I went out to Oz to help the fire fight, but no, if you do not know the skills, its best to stay away. You only danger yourself and others. Though many families in the bush were trying to fight off the fire to save their homes and homesteads. The smoke is horrendous, it is a killer, forcing communities down to the shore or having to evacuate to shelters. Never seen it so bad. Just hope with the rainy season coming in, that will be the end of it for this year.

Although there was a lot of talk about climate change causing fires, a lot of bush fires were started deliberately by malicious persons or accidental spread by careless people.

Anyway, my family in Sydney were ok, and I finished of my carport which came as a kit. So a two week trip for Christmas ended up over three months R and R, as I could not face a UK winter LOL.

I'm glad you and your family are safe.

I don't think anyone has said (anyone sensible anyway) they cause fires, but the record temperatures are not exactly helping to tame them.

Bush fires are a natural phenomenom, and essential for the cycle of life... what has been extrordinary this time has been the magnitude of them.

Nature will find a way to make better again, if man leaves well alone.

I think that's what it's doing, it's trying to wipe us out.

Now many areas are getting flooding with the rainy season, but at least it is wiping out the bush fires.

The poor old koala has been worst hit, as it just sits in the tree and burns, not got much sense of survival! Numbers are well down.
