Does anyone have BT as I'm thinking of switching from SKY.
Currently just for the phone and broadband but TV is a possible. As far as I can see Sky Atlantic isn't available which is the only channel that would bother me. I'll need to consult the family though on the rest.
On and off I've spent ages trying to get decent workable WiFi in the house but still get complaints from son and daughters that it drops and they end up using Data off their deal that leaves them short by months end.

I had a litany of issues with Sky, mainly for my internet. I was paying for 8mbps and was getting barely 3 at peak times, which essentially the only times I wasn't at work. After several phone calls & emails, and a catastrophically frustrating automated 'live chat from a drop-down menu', they finally admitted that they couldn't help me, and actually advised me to go back to BT. I did so and I've never been happier.

I have Plusnet, which is owned by BT.
The supplied Hub One router (which is based on a version of the BT Home Hub) is surprisingly decent.
I can't imagine how bad the Sky router must have been to keep dropping connections like that, unless you live in some enormous stately home.

I find cheap routers (anything under £60) last about 2 years then start becoming unreliable. Spend over £100 and you get maybe 4 years without problems, sometimes more.
This isn't me saying buy expensive routers, it probably costs the same either way (though less e-waste if you spend more and it lasts), just that if you are having annoying internet issues and it's this old, it is probably this.

Not something I asked but if it's FTTP do BT provide a router or is it worth shelling out for one. I think there was an issue with Sky whereby you could only use theirs or am I wrong on that.
The main reason for going BT is they are the only company I recognise who will do FTTP.
