Car Key fob blocking in Canada Grocery store
A mysterious blocking of car key fobs has been happening at a Co-op store in the small town of Carstairs Canada this past month.
So many cars have failed to open or lock their doors that shoppers are no longer arriving by car, and sales obviously are down. Even cars with keyless start are being prevented from starting, and have to be towed or pushed out of the frequency interference area.
It has got so serious that the store owners have had electricians out to check for anything that is blocking key fob frequencies but found nothing in the store, it does not even have wi-fi, and have even called in the federal ministry of Canada to look into what is causing this interference.
On a personal note, I have had similar key fob failure due to interference in the UK most rarely due to parking near a taxi office with transmission equipment. But I have physical key for both door and ignition start, so can always get on the move :D
I hope we eventually find out the cause of this Canadian stores problem.

There was a certain make of car that had a similar problem in a multi storey in Portsmouth, which was a bit embarrassing when it was their new flagship shopping centre :)

That makes sense, it's like the wifi 2.4ghz frequency, it's shared by so many things I'm amazed it works at all.
