Apparently Eurovision isn't a political event. Who knew?

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Wednesday, 30th January 2019, 14:46

Several celebrities, including Peter Gabriel, Wolf Alice, Mike Leigh and... Miriam Margolyes(?) have called for this year's Eurovision contest to be hosted anywhere else but Israel, citing human rights violations. Naturally, Eurovision have said that the competition isn't anything to do with politics, and Israel have said that the group protesting against them hosting the contest are just being anti-Semitic. That old chestnut, eh?

Never figured out why Israel is in the Eurovison at all, as it not exactly in Europe

Same goes for this....
Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest. Australia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest four times since their debut at the 2015 contest in Vienna. Seems crazy, but thats Eurovision for you. we need Rolf Harris back with his diggery don't

We all know that voting is political, all pals with their own close neighbours getting voted, like the east european block when they joined voted each other. So the best song does not win, assuming  we can call any Eurovision songs good.

Anyway Israal has pulled out some great songs, Dana International and one of my favorite eurovision songs, Ofra haza Hi Hi Hi (brilliant)....

May as well use the same thread

This year's entry has been picked from a shortlist of 6. I wouldn't even call it the best of a bad bunch. He's a good enough vocalist, but that's not a strong start (when sung live), and he's not exactly charismatic. Bottom 10 again

Listened to it last night, It's Bigger Than Us.

Hmm, wonder what that's about...

Its just another one of those modern dying and crying songs.
Makes one utterly depressed....nul points I expect.

What we need is a cheery dying song

What we need to do is stay in the EU, and Brexit Eurovision!

Here is my favorite and best Eurovision, and they were not even in the competition, but were in the intermission during the counting of the votes.

Yes its .....8 minutes of condensed Aqua live!
No politics, only some swearing
