Windsor Davies has passed. He created such a memorable character.

I did not realise that he was still alive till now. RIP.
'It ain't half hot mum' used to give a lot of belly laughs.

Thought he had gone the same way as his little fat pal, who died a long time ago. In fact I just dug out my CD on Don Estelle, as he was a good singer, which at the time these actors (a lot that worked on stage and moved on to telly)  had to be 'all round' entertainers, and be able to do more than just act.

i will just put the CD in my cars player this week, and reminisce.

Some things stick with you all down the years and Sgt Major Shutup's
'Oh dear, how sad, never mind' is one of them.
A little snatch of genius, a comedy riff if you like.

I doubt they'll show any It Ain't Half Hot Mum in tribute, our modern sensitivities probably couldn't cope with it.
Anything Windsor was in he always had that glint in his eye that made you smile before even the first line of dialogue.

Carry on lovely boy.
