i was just reading a post by a friend of a friend on fb saying they've been lifelong Labour supporter, and were a member, but they're sick to death of them being anti-Boris, but offering nothing so have left and voted for a different party.
I guess there's a lot of ppl similar, voting against the party that they've stood by through thick and thin, but have had enough, maybe they think the new bloke is too Blair like, so not "real Labour".

Not really an echo chamber in the sense I usually mean the word, these are all people I personally know not ones algorithms are pairing me up with. Admittedly there is an element of echo chamber in getting to know people, but it's not like I am not friends with any Tory voters.

I think the problem is summed up right there, in that no one really understands what Labour stand for anymore.
The SNP are the same but their supporters are so fixated on the Indyref message that they haven't got sick of them yet. It will happen though as I notice that Sturgeon is rowing back from all the talk of Indyref today...

I've only ever voted Tory once, because at the time there was no decent alternative. I was labour when Blair was taking his jacket off and showing his sweaty pits, but generally I've been voting for whoever closely matches by own ideals.

I would contemplate voting labour, if only I knew anything about them, what their policies are and what the leader even sounds like. "Vote for us because we're not them" isn;t really something you can put on the front page of a manifesto

Agreed, and we need a good opposition in this country that stand a good chance of transitioning to a government in waiting. The threat of that leads to better government and we won't have that for a while yet as I can't see Labour having a proper forensic review of what has gone wrong for them.
I see some rejected Labour councillors have been laying the blame on the voters this morning, which will help them no end when next seeking election...
