Pete says...Tory rebels & the DUP have apparently pledged to back May, so this will probably just send us back to square one, with the belligerent harpie in charge

She is going to get the backing, as the tories and DUP have no  option but to do so.

I bet no-one wants to inherit the mess she put us in, so she will be landed with having to solve it for the time being, and she has not got much time unless they extend the Brexit deadline.

Anyway, Its time to get the EU to concede to better Brexit terms, if that is possible. its a sort of stalemate at the moment by all.

Why should they? At no point have we been in any position to demand anything, ever. This was transparently clear to anyone who took the time to actually read article 50. This is why all this bleating about 'they'll be begging for our trade' or 'we should just leave, that'll show those unelected beaurocrats' was so bloody infuriating. Those that knew better should have known better. especially rags like the Express.

People who say "the EU should give us a better deal" have no idea about how the rules based system of the EU works and don't seem to understand that there is also little pressure on them to do so. Unfortunately this would include high ranking politicians as well as ill informed keyboard warriors.

Fair enough, I apologise for getting worked up at you, but I've seen Remain campaigners make this very point including some rather prominent ones.

Unfortunately, many politicians (on all sides) are more interested in their own agendas and party politics first, rather than sorting this mess out.

Interesting site, but looks like it's relying on old data.

The current YouGov poll has a much wider Margin
