Yes Im back (for a while), was hilarious watching the outcome of the General Election on Oz TV, where a massive amount of UK Northerners decided it was time to vote Boris and his tory party for the first time ever. I did a postal vote.

The result was a combination of many hating Corbyn so much they could not vote Labour, and the fact we waited three years to get Brexit done as per the referendum, and that resulted in many of the pathetic pro-EU MPs in Parliament who held us back got chucked out on their necks, and also that the then Speaker of the house (who was supposed to be impartial) got his comeuppance by not getting a peerage.

Anyway it is over and done with at last, and lets get on with Brexit. Interestingly this forum was very pro-EU and remain, and very negative to the referendum, whereas most other forums I was on, it was the opposite situation. oh well, its done now!

But its only the beginning of trade negotiations, rules and regulations, so it ain't ended yet. Plenty more to discuss, Agree/disagree with.

So, our Chancellor of The Exchequer, responsible for the country's financial and economic performance, resigns and is replaced by someone who was a junior housing minister seven months ago.
Wow.

Interesting is one descriptor...

Personally I think it's a good move.  Boris is trying to make fundamental changes to the way things are down, including trying to ensure that the Treasury don't put unnecessary blockers on his attempt to do this and release funds for Northern infrastructure in particular.  Part of that was a combined No. 10/Treasury team of advisors so that there was no conflicting narrative, which Javid seemingly opposed.

Time will tell, however...

If that's truly the case, how come HS2 which he hates?

Always good for the opposition to have bogeymen like Cummings, Gavin Barwell (who?), Alistair Campbell and Seamus Milne but the buck always stops with the leader - as it should.

Someone threw a hissy fit on Twitter a week or so back about waiting 55 mins plus at Schipol immigration 'Not the Brexit I voted for'
Prat. It's exactly the Brexit he voted for.

For perspective just back from a two day break over there.
Going. 10 mins through immigration, smiles and pleasantries all round.

Returning. 'It's ok you can go through the EU fast passport check' then a smiley slightly confused looking 'I don't know how long for though'

Note: All in perfect English as they're mostly bi-lingual at least. Whereas your average Brexiteer can't even speak his/her own language properly.
