This is quite an interesting read that came up in one of my feeds today:

On this day would you like to hear my favourite #Prince story? When he was playing the O2 he hooked up with a woman who worked there. She didn't have a bed - he spent the night at hers. The next day she was at home and a bed and mattress were delivered and built for her. From him

I don't think a lot of people realise what an incredible musician he was? His drumming was impeccable, great groove on the bass and guitar like a modern take on Hendrix. There were a lot of nods to Hendrix in phrases and style in what he just played there.

Aye, I think his image was so strong that most people only saw him dancing and heard him singing, without realising he was better at most instruments than most people.
I don't think there has ever been an artist who lived music the way Prince did, and I doubt there will ever be again.

Only really liked a handful of Prince singles and albums, but I always recognised just how talented a multi-instrumentalist he was. I would agree that he rarely gets wider recognition of this though...

Thanks!
I think the documentary is a repeat from 2019 and I've probably seen it but I'll no doubt watch it again. 😂 I'd recommend watching the concert, it's a classic (and was recently included in the Purple Rain Deluxe Edition).
And the movie is great, worth watching if people haven't seen it just to give the title track extra emotional punch, and of course Morris Day.
