Sat Nav with built in speed camera detector

not sure if this is the right forum, so apologies if I am in the wrong place....

A friend at work has asked me to advise her on a Sat Nav. She wants it to be able to detect speed cameras, not using the software that you can on most of the Sat Navs, but like those Road Angel things, but built in. It also has to have a speedo built in, but I`m pretty sure that most will tell you the speed you`re travelling at don`t they? She also wants it to be either TomTom or Navman.

I`ve had a quick look on the net, but can`t see anything that would do this.

Do they actually exist, or is she putting me on a wild goose chase?

I have not seen one that does, I use a TomTom and find it great, I used to use Pocket GPS for the speed cameras, they are loaded up as a point of interest, then your tomtom warns you when you are approaching one.

You can set it to how far away you wan to be when it warns you an dwhat type of warning, visual, audio or both.

Last year I switched to TomTom`s own speed camera locator and my subscription is about to run out.

Both were good, the TomTom is a lot more accurate and only warns you if the speed camera is on your route, but I think I`ll be going back to the Pocket GPS version as not only did it warn you about fixed cameras but it also warned you about mobile ones, it would also show a different symbol for each camera so if it started beeping and showed a mobile camera symbol you knew there was a good chance it wasn`t going to be there instead of looking around for a camera that isn`t there.

All the best

Gerald.
