IPOD docking station / Speaker recommendations please

El Peachio (Competent) posted this on Friday, 7th December 2007, 12:24

Hi all,

I have just got myself an IPOD classic, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a docking / speaker system for about 30 quid.

Thanks

There was one recently at Richer Sounds for £20, seemed decent with an NXT flat panel, might be worth a visit to your local one.

If you wanna go a bit more I bought an iSymphony M2UK hifi.
Full ipod docking feature, output link on the back if you want to connect it to the PC, powers/charges the ipod and is a complete hifi to boot.
Built in DVD with progressive scan, Divx and Xvid support, SD mem car support.

Downsides: Alarm is a preset volume (which is FFS! THE ALARM JUST WENT OFFF!!!!!) unless you link an external source (mine is a DAB adapter) or ipod and limit the volume on that, doesn`t display the ipod info on it`s screen (woulda been nice but hey, can`t have everything) and it`s reasonable sounding as a hifi.
I got mine for £115 in Comet, think the going rate is around £150. They also do an M1UK which has no DVD features.

Wee bit more expensive but in my case, thought it was better to have it as a hifi than as a docking/speaker and it sounds better too.
