Can anyone tell me if the 30gb Ipod has a plastic case or like the nano an aluminium one? - searched in the apple specs but cudnt find any details like that...

Yeah, i just bought an ordinary black one. Here`s the front, complete with crappy plastic cover.



It`s normally kept in a silicon sleeve, comme ca.
