Page 1 of Boyfriend goes to strip club!!! – how should I react?

Ok, you all are mainly men in here. How would you expect your girlfriend/ partner/ wife to react if you told them you went to a strip club last night?

we are manly men.. we would probably pat him on the back..
oh, wait. if a lady went?! hot dang! so long as she was at the salad bar and not the sausage counter that would be fine and dandy..
next time yer fella goes give him fifty quid. in fivers.

My mates wife asked if we were taking him to a strip club for his birthday, she seemed suprised we weren`t!!!!

Whenever any of my mates go to a strip club on a birthday or something they always tell the missus.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I think i would tell my girlfriend before i went, to avoid any drama.

I would expect her to be cool about it though.

This is all fairly hypothetical of course, since i`ve never been to a strip club, nor does it interest me very much.

my brother wasnt `allowed` to go to one on his stag night.. now he probably will never see the inside of one.. to be honest, they are mostly quite rubbish and expensive if you actually partake.. unless you like naked birds that is.

That is an interesting point too. There is context to consider. If he was in a strip club to celebrate his buddy`s stag, then there is (imho) very little for you to be p***ed off about.

In fact, if it was a lads night out, then basically i reckon it`s allowed.

If he`s leaving work and heading to the strip club straight away on his own, then maybe you should be worried.

I`ll give a sensible answer for you Sminty (I thought you were single though! not sure why I thought that mind, im not stalking you or anything!)

Anyway, I digress. In all honesty I would expect my girlfriend to be pretty upset. The way I see it is that looking at girls in magazines and tv etc is all "unattainable" and fantasy stuff. However, when someone is going into somewhere for the specific purposes of having a gander from close range it suddenly changes from "admiring" a picture to "letching" over someone.
Obviously all of this is from a personal opinion and based on no fact whatsoever as I can honestly say I have never set foot in a stripclub. Maybe Im shy or something but my mentality is that there is something really seedy about having to pay a pretty girl to talk to me/ dance in a tarty way inches from my face. Besides which, because I know that she is only doing it for money and not because she wants to makes it even less appealing. She would probably be sticking her @rse in my face whilst thinking about what she is going to wear tomorrow when the social services are coming round (im stereotyping there but hey ho)
Anyway, I also know that if my girlfriend went out and came back with stories of seeing a stripper that was waving his length inches from her face then I would be unhappy. Call me jealous but thats how it is. Therefore if I would be jealous at her seeing it then I cant expect her to be okay with me seeing strippers.
In summary, I think you have every right to be upset and thats coming from a man!

Went to one in Estonia with a mate. Now bear in mind how cheap it is there. My mate gave a woman a "tip" and she complained that she could not even get a drink with that. He had given her the equivalent of about 10p. We left before the local Mafia turned up to connect electrodes to our nads.
