Page 1 of Baffling top 100!

Its pointless to argue with the results of this survey but I think its worth mentioning that there were only about 8 comedies and no horror films in there (I don`t class Hitchcock films as horrors). Do that mean that these films cannot be "classics"?
no..doesn`t mean that at all....I`m sure the Top 100 would have been completely different if the experiment came from the States for example. If this were the case, would we have seen `Withnail...`, `Life of Brian`, `Kes` or `Trainspotting`? Probably not. Something like this is always going to be a purely personal opinion, but gave Chammel 4 something to do for 6 or so hours. Anyway...`The Exorcist` came in at No.49 - doesn`t this count as a horror film for you? Scared the crap out of me the first time round. Mind you, I was young then.

Well Star wars No 1 , the same saddos who put Jedi down as a religion on the census form voted for that pile of tosh, probaly several times.
The No 1 film is a empty reel of fresh film because it has not been made yet and never will!
I preferred Masters of the Universe to Star Wars. I bet *that* didn`t make the Top 100 :-)

I don`t think anyone could seriously admit to being suprised that a TV film poll reflects its viewership more than anything else. So hey, what a suprise the Channel 4 list was young, male, straight and unbelievably British.

Yes the Top 100 was a load of crap, but everyones going to have their own opinions.
A top 100 Comedy Movies would`ve been better to watch because they could have shown the funniest parts of the movies instead of the drivel they showed with most of the movies on the top 100. Oh.. and they could have sent Graham Norton to Siberian and got a lovely lass in to present the show, Kirsty Gallagher or Suzy Perry would have done fine.

I was pleasantly surprised by the taste shown by the voters in this poll.
I have strong doubts over Gladiator, Titanic.
Was Angel heart in there? I only saw from 60 down.
Judging by the films that were in the top 100, I thought obvious ommisions were Once Upon a Time in The West, Brazil, Elephant Man, Duck Soup.
There was no Angel Heart, American Beauty, Leon...I wasn`t too keen on Star Wars being number one, but I`m over it now. :-)
