Watching anamorphic movies/stuff on Windows Media Player....
I`ve noticed lately that some of the things I`ve downloaded have been anamorphic (ie. squashed up/long thin people).... how do you "stretch" them out/watch them in the correct ratio on Windows Media Player? There`s probably an easy solution, but for the life of me, I can`t work out how!? :/
(...oh, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum - wasn`t sure where to put it...)

not sure how to help relating to media player, but have you thought about trying another media player. someone recommended vlc media player to me a while back and i use that all the time. i had trouble when mediaplayer wouldnt play certain files or things would be a bit jerky, but with vlc its played everything, and in the options you can change the aspect ratios. and as far as i know its a free download, well it was when i got it.

Yep, get VLC. I`ve never actually had to specifically install any codec packs or even DVD software - it plays anything and it plays it in the right shape. :D
I don`t use WMP for *anything*, not even .WMV.

Oooo - thanks guys (and gal). I`ve just downloaded the VLC Player and it plays fine/in the correct ratio :) .
A couple of questions though...
1. How do I make it (VLC) my preferred player (so things automatically play on it)? At the moment, all my files automatically open on the Windows Media Player - I have to manually transfer the file to the VLC Player...
2. Is there any way of watching something full-screen, without losing the picture quality? (ie.the player just seems to enlarge the original picture size..).
Thanking you kindly....

VLC is excellent.
1. A way to do it is right click the file you want to open then choose open with. Click browse and browse to where VLC is stored. Check the "always use the selected program to open this kind of file.

When the movie is playing just right click on the picture & choose aspect ratio, then whatever aspect you need.
