God I hate B+Q !

What are they all about ?
I went to the local B+Q warehouse to buy some worktop.
They`d none in stock,but they have a branch the other side of town.

"Why don`t you go and see if they have any"
"Can`t you check"
"No,we`re not linked" :/

So I drive to the other side of town,to find out they don`t have enough stock either. >:(

So I decide to buy online,and it takes my money and tells me someone will be in touch regarding a delivery date.
So I get a phonecall last night;

"Yes,regarding delivery of your items,it will be Tuesday the 2nd of MAY"
"MAY ?!?!?!"
"yes"
"That`s no good to me ! "
"You could try your local stores sir"
"I`ve done that..you tell me the nearest branch that has them"
"I can`t do that.."
"Well cancel the order then"
"Okay,you`re money could take up to 8 days to refund" >:( >:( >:( >:(

So even if I see what I want somewhere else,I don`t have the money to buy it !!!!!

In B+Q`s defence, the refund delay would be down to the bank refunding the money. No help to you I know.

The refund`s just the icing on the cake,if you like. :(
The fact they have no way of knowing which branch has any stock is what`s really annoying me.
In this day and age,it should be a simple case of clicking a mouse and saying "Oh yes,Branch X has some,would you like to reserve it ?"

It is annoying. Ive ordered stuff only to find out the delivery will be up to 3 months, cancelled and had a refund take up to `8 working days`, which is, essentially 2 weeks as they start the process the next day, as far as I can tell.

Its also a ballache that national companies arent linked. I must have registered my details at about 8 branches of Boots the opticians, because they cant seem to get their s*** together and network their business.

Actually, credit where credits due, not only do argos stores know exactly what other stores have in them, but they can reserve you stock in another store and print you a receipt of reservation there and then, which is very useful.

Curry`s & Dixons have also been helpfull in that way.

Argos don`t check their stock when they take deliveries, so if they order 80 of something they assume they have 80 delivered. If there is a shortage and only 70 are delivered, they have no way of knowing.
I was told this after I reserved 6 items at a store, went to collect them and they could only find 5.
So their practices actively encourage stealing as they have no way of knowing if a delivery driver or unloading staff has stolen an item or five! >:(

Agreed,Argos is far from my favourite shop but it`s a good example of how a national network should operate.

Join the I hate B and Q4ever club
buy something
order online through store -no stock
have to ring to find they are not delivering it because they have no stock
go back to store for refund
rubbish

and as for fireplaces they sent a bloke who got struck off afterwards, different fitters, told us we have broken flue-no gas fire -ordered fires, sent back fires, ordered fireplace surrounds, send back surround because cracked

wish we had not bothered-now got a nice enough fireplace but the hassle!!

oh I feel better now

All these national companies must be linked or how on earth could they sort out their stock levels and orders from a central depots? I can`t believe they`re not, maybe just that it isn`t available to the people on the tills...
