Tv footage from Bazzra. The burning tanks one.
I have to ask. How is it that a state of the art tank that would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds and millions in development can be stoped in its tracks with ptrol bombs and car tyers?
How the soldiers showed so much restraint by not gunning them or running them down, chosing instead to get out and risk being ripped limb from limb I do not know.
All the best,
Dr 42%er.
It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I think you will find that their tanks do work. The problems regarding the Challenger 2 tank were fixed a long time ago. And it may be worth noting that the Challenger 2 tank is probably the best battle tank in the world and that the SA-80, despite its problems, is probably the best standard issue assault rifle an army could have.
Yes, our soldiers did have some issues with kit but I think it is also fair to point out that the British Army has some of the best gear there is.

They weren`t actually tanks, to be pedantic ;)
They were Warrior armoured personnel carriers. Or, as they`re known these days, infantry fighting vehicles.
As for why the crew had to dismount, I`m not sure. I wouldn`t have thought the petrol could get in - but that wouldn`t stop it getting bloody hot in there as a result.
(A friend of mine is an infantry Major, Adam. I think he might disagree with you about the SA80..... The A2 version is a lot better than the original one, but it`s still very far from perfect. And the LSW machine gun version is seemingly worse than useless. A lot of regiments are hanging onto their GPMGs, which the LSW was supposed to replace, because they`re so much more reliable.)

I imagine if you throw burning petrol over anything it will burn, armoured or not. :/

Looks like a tank to me :p
I would still bloody move if it was comming for me.

Sorry, I was referring to the "their tanks don`t work" comment.
Yes, the A2 is better than the original. I`ve seen many programmes and read about the SA-80 and many times people say that despite its problems it is likely the best (most accurate, I think) standard assault rifle.

Watched a programme about the best weapons ever last night and the famous Kalashnikov (A Russian rifle that I have spelt wrong :) ) was given a lot of abuse and still worked ok,I think most of are enemys use them. :) :)
