Page 1 of A bit of a dilemma

I recently bought a dvd from amazon market place, it was a pirate copy (if I wanted a pirate copy I would have bought from ebay).

I complained to the seller, asking for a full refund and for the money to post it back to him. The seller was very polite, claiming that he did not know it was a bootleg but accepted it was, without argument, maybe it was a genuine mistake.

My dilemma is, do I just stick the dvd in the post in a normal envelope and no postage paid, and risk it being lost in the post, I am reluctant to pay any money and be out of pocket, even if it is just a pound or so.

I gave up buying dvds from ebay a long time ago after buying quite a few `genuine R1 discs` that were blatantly pirate and then getting negative feedback for saying so.

I`m always amazed as to how petty some people can be with paltry sums of money..
Bin it.
Move on.

Sorry if that sounds harsh,but it probably cost you little more than a fiver.
You`re also bitching about spending under a quid on postage to get your fiver back.

Is he (Amazon`s version of) a power seller? Or just your average dingbat?

If he`s a power seller, tell him to refund what you paid, plus £2.00 extra to cover a jiffy bag & recorded postage. Then you`ll send the disc. If he`s reluctant, tell him you`ll have no option but to get in touch with Amazon and report him for selling pirate DVDs and not refunding when asked. It`s actually not a lot to ask, he`s in the wrong, and you should not be out of pocket.

If he`s just some idiot looking to make a few bucks selling back-row copies, then tell him you`ll phone Customs & Excise if he doesn`t give you your moolah back, plus £500 damages for emotional distress - because he probably won`t give a s*** about Amazon. But he might just be a dumb enough f*** to fall for it! :D
