during his time at the hawthorns.

I used to work with loads of Baggies fans and it always amazed me how highly they rated Russell Hoult. He was garbage for us. He punched EVERYTHING, had awful communication with the back line, leading to many collisions with Igor Stimac and flapped at corners so much im surprised he didnt take off.

Im told he can still drop the odd clanger, but he`s worth a good 9 points a season to you. Funny that....

My vote for worst ever Derby player (that I can remember anyway) is probably Bjorn Otto Bragstad. We paid 3 million for him from Rosenborg after a workman-like euro2000. I could have run faster than him, he had the positional sense of a crack addict and he held the back line so far back he was holding hands with Mart Poom. He played about half a dozen games for us, was loaned out to Man City and they sent him back after a few weeks. Then released in the big relegation clearout.

He was pretty much the harbinger of doom for us, as he started a run of everything Jim Smith touched turned to s***e.

I`ve got to say that Winston Bogarde was without doubt the most money and the biggest waste of time on the planet - he played 1 game and made £42000 a week for doing nothing for 4 seasons. POS.

hmm. for us its gotta be the goalkeepers, lehman, almunia, cygan and senderos. we need a new defence. :o

Ali Dia (Southampton) Then manager Graeme Souness. receives a call from former World Footballer of the Year George Weah, who is offering Saints his 30-year-old cousin Ali Dia. Immediately, Souness agrees to take Dia on loan for a month and sticks him on the bench for the crucial next game with Leeds despite never having seen him play.

After 32 minutes, Dia replaces Matthew Le Tissier. An hour later, Dia himself is replaced, for the simple reason that he isn't a footballer! Nor, it turns out, is he George Weah's cousin.

Im an Everton fan and I`ve got to say that I could not possibly mention any rubbish player!

Every Everton player has raised their game somewhat this season and we are currently in fourth when everyone thought we would struggle! So once again...I cant mention any!

Any chance of explaining why they might have thought that?

Simply because he arrived with the reputation of being the new Vierra (and Wenger was apparently interested in him). He was awesome in his first pre-season and then didn`t live up to the hype. The last straw was when a frustrated idiot burst onto the pitch and offered to swap shirts with him near the end of the 2001 season, at which point Nyarko refused to play for us again.

We then spent 2 years trying to offload him to various clubs until Moyes arrived. Moyes got him to play and he could have been a part of this years squad, but with a year to go on his contract, his permit ran out and it wasn`t renewed due to lack of international games (which wasn`t surprising as he`d retired from international football in 2001, the year after joining us).

So we`ve ended up paying this man for five years, two of which he never played a game (although was loaned out to Monaco and Paris St Germain) and one year in which he wasn`t even part of the club. His contract still has two months to run...
