i know im a pain but i am new!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what is the difference between criterion and anything else ( sorry cant explain it any better) cheers julie

criterion are a company who make their own dvds. This is because many studios keep on creating crap transfers onto dvd and some great films have little or no extras. Lets take for example Armageddon. The Touchstone/Buena Vista Version has the film only. The criterion version has an excellent crystal clear transfer of the film(so im told), documentaries, commentary and loads of other stuff crammed into two discs. As Criterion are an independant company and do not release many titles, they have to charge more for their titles than the normal 20-25 high street rrp. The Rock, Silence of the lambs, spartacus, Rushmore, charade and a few other titles are available on criterion
