Well you`re on the Internet, which is a good start !!!! A few good UK sites are :

http://www.futureent.com (based in Sittingbourne, Kent)
http://www.play247.com (based in Jersey)
http://www.stardvds.co.uk (based in the UK somewhere - can`t remember where exactly)

But, the world`s your oyster

http://www.ezydvd.com.au is my favourite at the moment altho` that`s R4, and R3 DVDs can be had from http://www.dddhouse.com, although that`s one helluva guessing game (great fun though !)

I assume you`re asking this because you don`t have a credit card, though. It`s highly unlikely Doncaster will have a High St retailer capable of selling these discs.

It is illegal to for a retailer to sell any DVDs that is not Region 2 on the High Street, the Trading standard Department will close them down if they do. So the only place to get them is either from a friend or over the internet.

Sometime when you buy a Disc from the states, their security tags aren`t de-magnetise and if you walk throught those security "gate" in WH smiths, Dixons, HMV... with it their alarm goes off. They can`t acuse you of stealing it even if you can`t prove where else you got it from because the Disc is in another Region, 1) they probably don`t have it because it`s not out in this country yet and 2) you can tell them you`ll call Trading standard and close them down because the disc is in R1 etc.

It`s not due to the fact that they`re a different region that they`re illegal.

R2 discs from other European countries, or Japan, would be just as illegal as R1s - namely because they don`t carry a BBFC certificate.
