Im off to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks and it can be quite cold walking about at night! I want a fleece or a jacket that will be very warm (just wanna wear a shirt underneath really), quite lightweight and rain resistant (waterproof aint a necessity cos ill be inside the coffee shops as often as possible. Whats the best i can get for about £150 or less, please help, cos last time i nearly froze to death out there!!

Richard - I recommend the Berghaus Activity Fleece, £60...this is the Polartec thermal version of the £40 Spectrum fleece...both are rain resistant and both zip inside the Goretex Berghaus outer shells if you ever feel like progressing on to one. I previously had the Berghaus Hobart which is windproof but this was just TOO hot as, being windproof, it`s not breathable.

I think Cotswold Outdoors are doing discount if you buy online.

My husband also has a Berghaus - they are a good company. I`ve got a Jack Wolfskin one which I really like. You could also look at Rohan - very expensive, but very long lasting, excellent performance, good guarantee, will pack very small. Try Black as well, they can sometimes do good prices.

Have a great time - I`ve always fancied Amsterdam!
