Can you help?

Purchased a converted D725 from Hi-Spek about 18mths ago, works fine, automatically switches regions.

Problem, won`t play RCE disks

Does anyone know the following

1. How I switch regions manually. I have heard this works.

2. Any other tips that might work.

Can`t help on this one, but Sony mods are generally autoswitching, not manual, and it should have come with the player if it`s possible.

This works with auto-switching Pioneers and a couple of others.

First, load a region 1 disc you CAN play. Press STOP.
DO NOT POWER OFF THE PLAYER!!!
Press EJECT and remove the R1 disc. Now insert your RCE disc.
Press PLAY.

Cross your fingers that you now get the Title screen and not the Region Map screen.

You may also be able to skip directly to the chapter numbers manually, but not play the disc through it`s "menu" structure.
If you post the RCE disc in question, I`ll see if I can come up with a chapter list for you.

Try this:

Put player in Standby (via remote control).

Press "Shuffle" then "Enter".

Power the player up.

The player should now be in manual mode.

Put player in Standby mode again.

Press "1" then "Enter" (for Region 1).

Power up player again.

You should now be able to play the RCE disk.


To go back to Auto-Region again, do the following.

Put player in Standby mode.

Press "Program" then "Enter".

Power up player.

On my player, you can continue to play that RCE disk without having to constantly switch back to manual mode. Don`t know why, but it`s worked so far on all the RCE disks I have tried.

Hi Marc H,did any of the above work,I`ve had the same problem,sent the Dvd back for refund so now don`t have any RCE Dvd`s but if any of the above worked I`d but some more.
