Hi,

Following on from a few posts in the `have you ever been banned` thread, I wondered if any of you guys had ever visited CAPALERT.

It was compulsive reading at our work. They are a right wing, god fearing ministry who review evil movies so you dont have to see them.

Their review of Jay and Silent Bob is just hilarious (`Encourages Homosexuals to adopt Children`)

It took me an hour just to read the Natural Born Killers "review" ....

Right, I`m off to throw my daughter`s (straight from the depths of Hades) dvds in the bin! It`s about time this evil parent pulled his socks up, and repented. Here`s hoping the Christian Church will initiate some kind of dvd amnesty to save our twisted souls!

I`ll spend the rest of day on my knees seeking forgiveness, which will hopefully, prevent me from an eternity of unspeakable damnation.

Tell me about it. I watched Harry Potter last night and now i feel the need for a few Hail Mary`s.

They have not reviewed Pulp Fiction - that would have been fun :D

I would like to share my distaste with your website and team of reviewers, as you serve only to knock films that many filmmakers have laboured over - in the sense of entertainment! They do not deliberately set out to make anti-Christian films, but even if they did that is their decision and their point of view.

Your radical website, breaking every frame down, is actually fuelling this `fire` - by writing all the "profanities and wrong-doings" you are instead exposing them to children who otherwise would not be able to see the "offending" film in the first place.

Without resorting to cliché, it is time for you to get a life - and I mean that. You obviously take your faith seriously, but to be honest spreading it in such a manner does no good. You are instead hurting a lot of people who enjoy the films they have made, and also making the viewers of such films feel wrong and immoral.

I noticed American Psycho and Dogma scored a very `bad` mark on your CAP rating, when in fact they are what you could call two cult classics. Not due to their religous content, but instead because they are hugely enjoyable and engaging examples of filmmaking.

I urge you to rethink your position, as I wouldn`t be surprised if soon you got accused of some form of slander against the film companies and individuals who make the films.

And also, as a final point...how do you know that God`s favourite film isn`t American Psycho? You have to admit, Christian Bale did put in a good performance - something the Lord would have responded to. Oh, and you better avoid Mel Gibson`s upcoming The Passion of the Christ...
