Page 1 of Oliver the "humanzee"

Did anyone see this on channel 5 last night. Bloody facinating prog it was. So odd. A chimp that looked like a man and walked like a man. wierd.

I`ve read about this before and was going to watch the prog but completely forgot! >:(

twas proper bonkers!

loads of archive footage and photos from the 1970`s including his trip to japan (or china) for a TV show which had "the monkees" on it. I kid you not.

Interviews with loads of scientists and geneticists that claim a chimp/human hybrid has been born already, mock ups of what a hybrid might look like :-0 and the story of what happened to Oliver since his 1970`s mega stardom. He now lives in a sanctuary after being rescued from an animal testing lab. Oliver is now blind and is 42 years old. Bless him.

Interestingly enough, his DNA did show him to be a chimp and not a hybrid. BUT his DNA structure is completely different form normal chimps.

Yeah.
Was dissapointed how they ended it though.

I mean, they can`t go "Look, his DNS pattern is different" and then not try and explain what that MEANS exactly!!

And why hasn`t someone tried extracting some of his DNA-Juice and getting another Chimp preggers?
I don`t agree in trying to cross a chimp with a human `just because it can be done` but if Oliver had offspring that were just like him, watching their interactions and behaivours could have massive implications of evolution theories and the understanding of such evolutionary leaps.

I`ll shut up now, it just left me with more questions than answers. :/

You had me going there, I thought the thread refered to Jamie Oliver!
