CD Micro Systems - buying for the girlfriend!

Brian Elliott (Reviewer) posted this on Tuesday, 20th May 2003, 15:38

Hey guys,

Looking to spend a little money on the girlfriend for her birthday, and since her CD Micro system is close to packing up, I was thinking about replacing it for her, something costing up to around £80.

Keeping in mind that it has to be a Micro system, and that she will no doubt want looks over build-quality, has anyone seen anything appealing recently?

Cheers folks,

EVH

hello,

if she only needs CD and TUNER i have the ideal match, £100 though, i have one...its amazing, a rebandged reference 100!!!!

TEAC, so its a name we all know, nice and small, great design and build quality, remote, all leads etc and in sale, i paid £170, was worth it though, now its just given away!!

I am just looking for a link on dixons/currys website, cant seem to find one...

its a TEAC MCD78, but actually its a dixons exclusive of the reference 100, at least it looks identical, same manufacturer etc...

anyway i hope this helps and i cant emphesise enough the quality of this product, everything about it ooozes style, i love it!

It is also compatible with tape and minidisc, any although matching teac are available, and there is also an AUX input and optical out!

Unfortunately i cannot find a link on dixons site, have a look in the store though, you will like it!!!!

heres a SIMILAR pic, the speakers are pine and with a grey front and the main unit is silver!

http://www.teac.com/ref/100/100.html

all the best....

Dan

After recently buying this bit of kit I thoroughly agree with Hirsty. I paid £120 from Currys for it and was very impressed. If you can pick it up for £100 it`s even better. Great sound, great looks and very powerful for it`s size. Actually listening to P.O.D on it at the minute and it rocks. Probably wasted on a girlfriend but nevermind, go and get it. I also could find no mention of it on either Currys or Dixons website.

That is a seriously nice looking bit of kit, I have to say...trouble is, will the bank account stretch to it! I`ll have a good think, but cheers for the input.

Anyone else any suggestions?

Thanks,

EVH

By the way, are there any reliable online shops, where I can save a few quid?
