Page 1 of Help with new phone please.

I`ve just bought an unlocked Nokia 3510i and put my PAYG Virgin Moblie sim card in.The phone makes and receives calls O.K. but the display shows T-Mobile UK. Why is this ? Also I can`t get WAP function to work.
Any advice ?

might be you need to get your logo changed to virgin or whatever takes your fancy.

the wap access thing i can help with (bought the phone meself and bunged my vodafone sim in it, spent 10mins trying to work out why i couldnt get wap access!)
You`ll need to change the wap settings (if memory serves, service options, settings, connection settings, then choose an empty on) then fill in all the details from the following
do a google search for Virgin mobile wap settings and you should find a site that will tell you all the appropriate settings. I cant look now (about to go offline) but if you havent found it by 2mo i`ll have a quik look and post the addres

Could it be the personal greeting was set as T Mobile UK - if so you should be able to change it yourself. I`ll check it out on mine and get back to you.

Virgin use the T-Mobile network.

T-Mobile sims work in Virgin phones.

When I didn`t know better I put my T-Mobile sim in a Virgin phone and it worked - I thought this was the same as all phones and all networks until someone told me better.

I`ve tried to change operator logo but it says I don`t have any in the memory.The welcome message only comes up on switching the phone on and then disappears leaving the T Mobile icon again.I`ve looked on Virgin Mobile web site for wap settings but the list of parameters and the info asked for by phone do not match.
ie. the phone doesn`t ask for dial up number, call type , IP address , IP port , linger time etc.
Any ideas ?

Logo - dont worry it`s on a frigging logo.

settings - ring virgin and ask for them!
