Page 1 of pay as you go phones price increase!!

is it me or has the price of pay as you go phones suddenly increased!
has anybody else noticed this?

The mobile phone networks and manufacturers dropped their prices when they were still fighting for the custom of those who didn`t yet own handsets. Now that almost everyone who wanted a phone has bought one, the idea is to convince them that they need to upgrade to the latest model. Have you noticed that Phones-4-You, Carphone Warehouse and The Link have all used advertising implying that you should be "ashamed" to "be seen" with your old handset?

As far as I`m concerned, your phone should only ever "be seen" when you`re using it to make or receive calls. Otherwise, you`re just soliciting the attention of covetous ne`er-do-wells.

The price increase by the mobile phone companies is to get ready to pay for defence lawyers when everyone and their children puts in a lawsuit for getting Mobile phone brain tumers just next to their left or right ear!!!!

Theres no connection, you say, well its your life. You have been warned.

Isnt it because OFTEL have ordered the phone companies to drop the price of calls? This means that the price of handsets has to increase to offset the drop in revenue, some of which is normally used to pay for the handset.
