General Forum
Hi, hope you can help.
I have been looking through these forums - great stuff - and have concluded that the Aiwa DV370 rocks.
However I have also determined that the Pioneer 636 and Sony 725\735 are also cool.
The DV370 costs £200, is multi region and fully laden with other features. I can get the 636 or 725 chipped for multi region for £350 (techtronics).
I am not sure if I will ever use MP3, I have not to date, but I do want good pictures and sound. Unfortunately my current system consists of a stereo tv, and that`s all, however I do intend to update this to a full surround system in the near future.
So, my question is...
Should I spend £150 more for a top-notch player, ready for future expansion, or should I just get a very good entry-level player?
All opinions respected. Ta.
i`d go the 370 and save the £150.00 to put towards your surround set up when you can.
Your system will never be complete till u have that no matter how expensive your player is.

RE: Aiwa 370 or spend more?
Is it that the visual\audio difference so slight that I would not notice, even when linked through an AV amp?
Also I thought I`d use it as a second CD player, would the 370 still handle this role well?
Thanks
R.
The picture quality on the 370 is awsesome it uses the C-Cube chipset to decode the video which is one of...if not the best on the market at the moment. (hitachi are using it in their new £350.00 player)
If u compare playing sound thru a tv or an av setup its a bit like going to the cinema and listening to the film thru a walkman (tv). The cinema`s own sound system is what makes the experience that much more richer and enjoyable.
The 370 will make a great second cd player. especially if u get the sound set up asap. I was gonna by a new hi-fi for myself this christmas but bought the 370 instead as i never use the radio or play tapes indoors.
Hope that helps
Shaun

Thanks Shaun, it does. 370 it is.
It also occurred to me that the Sonys don`t play CDRs, so that would stuff the 2nd CD player idea.
I`ll let you know how it goes...
