Leon - Integral Version - When/Where/How much Anyone ?

Simon Bovey. (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 28th June 2000, 22:22

Quick question - anyone know where i can get Leon - Integral Version - I`ve heard that it`s released in Japan - anyone know if/when the UK release is or who will import the Japense Region 2 version for me ?
(I have an un-chipped Pioneer DV-515 so Region 1 isn`t a possibility)
If you`ve never heard of this version try http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Bungalow/5102/integ.htm

This is due out on Region 1 soon, so expect a R2 release to follow shortly afterwards. I`m not sure if the content is exactly the same as the Japanese disc.

Check out one of the online retailers for more infor about the disc - www.express.com have it listed I know.

Cheers,

The Japanese version is region2 NTSC, so provided you setup can do NTSC you don`t have to worry.

That said, I think the Japanese version is non-anamorphic. I have it and the image is quite grainy in places but it doesn`t ruin the film or anything. (Not that I`ve got around to watching more than the first 15 minutes of it.)

As linked from this site a while ago, DVD2000 have an excellent article on how to get hold of the Japanese Integral Version. Don`t worry, the audio is English. :-)

Check this out:

At the bottom are a bunch of websites which you can order it from. I used www.cdjapan.co.jp and it took around a week to arrive. Pretty good service. Only minor hassle was that I had to create an account with them, but that`s free and doesn`t take too long. (Seemed a waste of time when I have no plans to buy any more Japanese discs, but nevermind, heh)

They also have a review of the disc here:

Best of luck. :-)

(Anyone want a region-1 non-Integral copy of Leon / The Professional? I bought it before I found out about the Integral version... doh!)

Thanks - I`ll have a look at those links and probably use the same company as you.
