Burnout Paradise...

Miles (Elite Donator) posted this on Thursday, 23rd April 2009, 12:46

Very annoyed with myself.
Got Burnout Paradise from Lovefilm and really enjoyed it, so thought I`d buy a copy.
I ordered Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box - thinking it was the same game but just with the added extras on it.

Trouble is, it has a different PS identification code and therefore the save game I have for it won`t work :(
I`d managed to get over 300 of the 400 gates, half of the super jumps and 70 of the 120 billboards....all of which I now need to complete again.

Tried copying the save files off and changing them around but it just ends with corrupted data on the PS3, can`t find any info on Google for it either.

So quite annoyed about it! OK it was only 15 hours worth of playing time, but it`s still 15 hours wasted (seeing as I can`t remember most of the map :D)

Anyway, it`s a good fun game for anyone thinking about it :D

Cheers for telling me that - had Paradise a while ago but then flogged it on as I`d done all the gates etc - then saw this and wanted to get it for the bikes. Think I`ll leave it now.

This is the PS3, not sure if you`re playing on the Xbox or not (not sure if the Xbox does it differently)
The bikes are part of the free DLC though I think.

Have you tried a Hex editor on saves, comparing for any changes? Might be something simple and obvious to change.

To be honest I hadn`t thought of that...but given that I only played for 1.5 hours last night and got through 125 gates & 30 billboards I might not bother :D

Good effort. Will have to have a race at some point (when I`ve learnt my way around the map!)

I`ve now played 7.5 hours of it and managed to get 102 of the billboards and 320 of the gates, so recovered most of what I`d `lost`.

Each game title has a unique code (not each disc). And save game files are linked to those IDs. It`s that code I was talking about :D

Can anyone give me a rundown on what`s good about Burnout Paradise? I used to love Burnout, but when I played the demo a year or so ago I was unimpressed. Perhaps I was being too judgmental. So, is it worth giving it another go?
