Xbox 360 Headset

BADMOFO (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 7th February 2006, 18:50

Just bought a Joytech headset for the 360 today. Was using my old Xbox headset before this on the 360. I thought the jack plug to plug into the controller would be different. By this I mean I thought it would have more than just 1 jack plug. On the controller there seems to be `room` to fit something else? Can anyone shed any light on what these other `holes` are for on the controller?

Perhaps they are just used has a bit more of a firmer grip for the official Microsoft headset to plug into?

Basically have I cocked up getting the Joytech headset?

Thanks.

The two slots either side of the headset socket are for stabilty only. I use my Plantronics Halo 2 headset. The "Official" 360 headset is shockingly appaling. The Original Xbox Headset puts it to shame!

You can use any headset in the 360 controller, even a Mobile handsfree. The only way to control the volume though is via the dash.

Hopefully, as Plantronics has renewed their contract with Microsoft, we should see a new 360 headset of superior quality soon.

Cheers mate. With the poor quality on offer I thought I may have purchased a dud, but apparantly not.
