Advice Wanted On Possibly Faulty GBA
Hi everyone, Merry Christmas,
Just wanted some advice on the GBA we got for Olivia for Christmas.
We are having trouble seeing the screen, it seems to be very dark, the back light is working, well it turns on and off but the screen is still very difficult to see. Especially when playing Scooby Doo.
Just wondered is this is normal for them or if there is a fault, Remember my old GameGear never had this problem and you would think the screens would be a lot better now 10-15 years on.
Phoned Toys R Us this morning, but they were not very helpful said we had to bring it in for them to look at and wouldn`t tell us if they had any replacements in stock. :(
All the best
Gerald.

Toys r` us are absolutely crap when it comes to returning an item. I remember fighting for an hour with their staff some years ago when they sold me a faulty MSR for the Dreamcast.
As for your GBA - is it an SP, or the original one? If I remember correctly, the original needs a wormlight or some such to be able to see it properly. It`s very dark otherwise. If it`s an SP, yes it is backlit, but from what owners have said it`s still not very powerful. However it shouldn`t be as bad as what you are describing. You`re right to take it back, give `em hell!
I don`t mean to say I told you so - but well, the DS has a wonderful bright backlit screen, and it plays GBA games too. You`d have been much better off with that. The kids bloody love them. Nearly as much as the adults!

take it back and exchange it for a DS, you or your daughter will certainly not regret it!
