When you get the chance, put it on Tier One mode - think you have to hit level 30 before you can do that though...

"Also played the Battlefront II beta over the past few days. It's better than the first game, at least going by their respective betas, but I'm not liking the loot crate progression system. Micro transactions in a full price AAA game, especially ones that give people a competitive edge, are a really bad idea...

Well I was playing Elex for the last couple of weeks, that really is a decent and hard RPG.

Now, though, really impressed with Assassin's Creed: Origins which is a nice change of direction from them and clearly influenced by the likes of Witcher 3...

Looks gorgeous and plays really well.

Recently finished Zelda:Breath of the Wild and Horizon:Zero Dawn.
Started Mario Odyssey yesterday.
Both Zelda and Mario worthy of all the accolades that come their way, truly astonishing video games.

I saw the list of next month's PlayStation Plus games, and realised I hadn't "bought" this month's, so I've just downloaded R-Type Dimensions, which as various versions of R-Type and R-Type II. I never played the arcade game, but remember as a school boy spending Sunday afternoons at a mate's house playing it on his Amiga :)

I'm not sure I was ever great at it, but I really can't remember the patterns and my reflexes aren't what they were :(

have to dig out X-Out for some more side scrolling nostalgia :)

It's ironic listening to the interview with Pen that is on the radio, the original idea apparently came out of some politician saying computer games shouldn't be shooting people, they should be training you for your working life.

And now we have Truck Simulator, Train Simulator, Farm Simulator, Car Mechanic Simulator...

...and Surgeon Simulator... okay maybe that's not the same thing. :) Played that today in VR but it's room scale, and my office is too small for room scale. :(

So...finally picked up No Man Sky after the NEXT update and sunk 37 hours in the last week.  This is exactly the space exploration game I've wanted after seeing Elite on the BBC Micro in 1984 (and realising I wasn't good enough to play it).

I've tried Elite: Dangerous and that's just too Euro Truck simulator in space for me, NMS is much more accessible for my playing style.

And how come I'm the first new entry on this thread since before Christmas?
