Bit of info for you:
Square-Enix has been hard at work on the Final Fantasy VII Compilation.
Firstly, there is the movie that follows on from the events of FFVII. It`s called "Advent Children", and is being released on DVD and the PSP compatible UMD. It`s CGI ala Spirits Within, should run for bout an hour and from the trail, it looks cracking. I think a release is planned for the west later this year.
Then there`s the PS2 game featuring Vincent Valentine from FFVII. Called "Dirge Of Cerberus", little is know about it right now, except it`s a 3rd person adventure and features other characters from FFVII in supporting/NPC roles, and looks a little like Devil May Cry.
Before Crisis is an action-RPG for the mobile phone, out now in Japan. I`m not at all interested in mobile gaming, so can`t tell you any more than i believe it`s set before the events in FFVII.
Crisis Core is a spin-off RPG for the PSP, set in the FFVII universe.
The notion that FFVII was only 50% of an original story is gash. Sounds like fan-boy forums getting their wires crossed.
There may indeed be twice as much story by the end of Squre-Enix`s plans, but only through clever extension with sequels and prequels, not adding anything that was planned and taken out prior to the `97 release.
