Just being paranoid but was talking to a shop assistant today in gamestation and they told me that british games will work in a jap psp as they are both region 2 but an american game wont!!

Now i am fairly certain that sony themselves have said that the psp will be region free (apart from movies)

Taking it with a pich of salt after they kept insisting that the DS would be nintendos next gen handheld and not the Gameboy Evolution, then insisting that no new consoles will be out this year! (ahem xbox 2 for xmas)

dont worry lots have been tested on a jap psp now and all work:) i was a little worried too so i went on american psp sites and everyone tried work even ign and gamepots tried them so no need to worry ..no offence to anyone who works at gamestation stores but there not exactlly the most clued up and intellegent people on the planet there thick as pig s***..i went in a few weeks ago to ask if theyd be importing any psp or ds games and the people told me theyd not even been out in japan yet but would stock them as soon as they do when i tried to explain that id hd both consoles for months the manager practically called me a lier he said you cant have mate there not squeduled for realese in japan until late april so i tried to argue with him he just picked up a couple of empty game boxes and walked away shouting yeah what ever mate i believe youve got one try coming back late april when its out and then well see..(thick bastard)
i alo tried to trade in some american gba games in another store in bolton and they wouldnt accept them bcs they say they dont work on a uk gba i said yeah they do a gba is non region locked he said no there not your trying to rip me off and then threated to get security lol..ill never goto to them tin pot shops ever again bunch off losers..dont worry order some games if youve any doubts contact lik sang theyll tell u there not region locked too its only the movies which are region locked

thats what i thought, should know better than to listen to sales staff!!!!! oh and if anyones interested according to gamestation the nintendo ds is the controller for the revolution!

Will look forward to playing my american version of lumines when it arrives, might just wander into gamestation playing it and laughing at them :D

Had to laugh, thank god i`m not joe public and ask them for advice for a new console, probably walk out with a megadrive with some nes games for it :p

have you only ordered lumines?theres some really good deals knocking around at the minute for us games and some of the games are superb wipeout pure,ridge racers,metal gear acid,twisted metal,fifa...ive ordered gretsky nhl2005 hockey for only £8.99 from www.importmadness.co.uk i hope to get it soon its had some bad reviews but from what my mate said he says its all wrong hes already got it..its got fulol online play so if youve got a broadband connection you can play people all over the world with it:) also if you wanna get some free movie downloads and programmes for it join up too www.pspcrazy.com or www.talkpsp.co.uk there really helpful sites i joined up months ago (dont worry its free) if youve any problems or any things youd like to know just go on there mate theyve got everything youll ever need..the only dvice i can give you now is if youve not got a big memory card get one as soon as you can bcs when you get one youll realiose just what a brilliant machine the psp is,,i got a 512mb memory stick pro duo its easily big enough for a movie or two ,a few mp3s,a few episodes of the simpsons but make sure you get pro duo as they run movies much smoothly than normal sticks if you want a link for the one i got post here and ill tell u :) have fun and hope you get it soon

Am tempted to get tony hawks, but really want a good rpg, but will wait till an american one comes out :D

theres already a good role playing game out called untold legends its like baulders gate :) or you could wait until next month and theres a few coming out then and in a few months time theyve done a special final fantasy game which is supposed to be the best yet i cant wait for it;)

there a really good company too deal with i got mine next day they send all things by 24 hour special delivery it says its £5 for next day delivery but theres no need to pay for that because i work for royal mail and theres no diffrence delivery wise between a recorded and a next day delivery ..they both get sent the same way they get sent differently to normal mail they get processed quicker and at the sametime so just pay the £2 postage mate save the extra money to buy a screen protector or put it towards a game..im glad you got your psp ok so whats your opinion on it?:)

Eternaldark - where did you get your PSP from?

Really want to order one, and Play-asia seem to be cheapest for the Jap one. Can`t find the US value pack anywhere - Importmadness are out of stock. :(
