G-C and Game boy advance.

Due to the price drop I am considering buying the Game Cube for the kids (Xmas).
They both have the Game Boy Advance (old style without flip screen)
I have been told you can use these as controllers for the cube?
What advantages does this have and can you play advance games through the cube?
do you need expensive cables do do this?

Ps dont know if Im allowed to ask but can G C be chipped like PS2 and Xbox? 8)

1. No the GBA can`t be used as a controller. It links to the cube and has different functions on certain games (e.g. on Zelda it becomes the tingle tuner an interactive map)

2. The only way to play GBA games through the GC is by using a gameboy player, a device that fits underneath your gamecube. Costs from £30 - 40. Unless you ddo what I did and get it free from Nintendo by using the stars scheme.

3. No the cube can`t be chipped, but import games can be played by using the freeloader disc (www.datel.co.uk). Thankfully pirate games aren`t an issue on the cube due to extreme security measures (discs go backwards, smaller size etc)
