Having got rid of my Pioneer slimline player as I didn`t use it enough, I got a PS2 instead as the playback of it on PAL DVD`s was fine. However, I then bought one and played back a region 2 disc...LOTS of pixelation. Then I played a Japanese Disc, anime film, and was HORRIFED by the squiggly lines on everything. What have I done?! Can can I improve this? Does it mean buying a proper player again?

try using a good cable like s-vhs or rgb,you can get region x disc for around £20 to make your player multi region and output true rgb.
