[VIDEO] Dune (2020) slated for December
Ornithopters!
Directed by the same guy behind Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. Might be worth a look, although I have a soft spot for Lynch's folly.

RE: [VIDEO] Dune (2020) slated for December
Absolutely loved the book(s).
I remember watching the Lynch attempt with a mixture of disbelief and disinterest and I've never chosen to re-watch it as there's always some paint that needs watching.
Initial impression of that trailer is somewhat hopeful but Paul looks woefully miscast.

Yet another Dune film and based yet once again on the first book.
So no matter how good the CGI is, the acting, the dramatics, the plot is always still the same as the book......its just a can of wormsÂ
PS..will end up seeing it, but will wait for the DVD. Agree with Snaps, going by the trailer that Paul seems a very poor actor for a major role. But want to see it for the effects.

never read the book(s), never saw the film. This trailer makes me interested in visiting both.

Loved the books when I was a teenager, avoided the Lynch film like the plague (due to Sting) and not seen any of the mini series like Dune's children.
This looks good, at least, but some of those gathering army scenes remind me of the Star Wars prequels **shudder**...

You could say the same of any 'modern' adaptation that the producers' feel needs a dramatic last act. Bloody Alice in Wonderland & Jack the Giant Slayer had massive battles as a finale.

I vaguely remember seeing the original movie and not really knowing what I saw. I really enjoyed the SciFi channel mini series, but the sequel was a bit meh. This looks interesting.

Its the tech I am always interested in Si-fi movies, and it was the Lynch film that showed a fantastic way of space travel, using 'transformed humans through generations of spice use' turned into alien looking space navigators, and using their minds power to move the giant mother spaceship instantly from one planets orbit to the next planets orbit. Then smaller spaceships inside the mother ship would land on the planet. Fantastic.
Looking forward to seeing the technique they use for spaceflight in this film, as instantaneous spaceflight is useful to speed up a films progression.

I haven't seen it since I got it on DVD, but I do remember really liking it:
