November 4th in the UK, but it's only 13 minutes longer than the theatrical cut.

It would benefit more from having scenes trimmed or cut altogether, rather than extended.

I thought I would have been as excited waiting for the next part of the trilogy as I was for Lord of the rings, but I was not. A load of dwarfs did not give the same effect as the LOTR characters and story.

The first LOTR's I saw in the cinema 5 times.
The 2nd, 3 times and the 3rd, 2 times.

The hobbit was one time only, and had no desperation wait to see the next. Plus the fact I thought it would have been better made in two films, rather than them make more cash with three.

Anyway, we wait to see if the next hobbit instalment is better.

Finally watched this, the extended edition in 3D. Enjoyed it, didn't find myself clock watching, and the point they end it on was annoying! But in the same way the Empire Strikes Back ended annoyingly. :)

Looking forward to seeing the third when the extended edition comes out for that.

I now have DVD 1 and 2, but waiting as usual for the price to drop on 3, before buying when it reaches a fiver.

Think I am a miser, well my relatives wait to borrow the DVD's off me 

I can't ever recall seeing any of the Hobbit films appearing on Sky Movies. Does anyone know if they have been on and I've just missed them, or is there a licensing issue between the distributor and Sky for these films? Cheers.

For those who wanted to see Lord of the rings and the Hobbit as violent as Game of Thones, well here is a short (7 minute) fan based film that does so. One of the best fan made films i have ever seen. Your hooked from the start.

The orcs and magic and scenery are as good visually and special effect wise than any major picture. Warning this is all very gory and violent from the start to the end.
