Page 1 of Evil Dead Book Of The Dead R1 (?) arrived this morning but not what I ordered....looking dodgy!!!

I`ve just got mine R1(?) delivered today (18/2/02)and it is only one disc, not limited to 10,000 copies and the cover is not leather but rubber. I paid £35 for this when I could have got it at half the price.

Also, it appears to be a region free disc as it has no mention of region coding on the packaging etc, and no matter what region I set my player to it still plays!

Now, my version is nothing like the one on the above link....beware people!

Are the commentaries the same as on the previous Anchor Bay version of the film?

I haven`t had time to have a look at the actual contents of the disc yet (in the process of fitting a bathroom carpet), but I will watch it tonight/tomorrow and let you know.

Has anyone else received this yet?

Carpet in the bathroom? Doesn`t it get a bit damp? Sorry to go off topic, but I had to ask. ;-)

Leather ?!?!?! Whoever said anything about leather ?

Sorry mate you`ve got your wires crossed. There is no "leather" version, there all rubber. I think this site is alittle muddled.

Plus, every version of book of the dead is one disc I believe. It was originally going to be 2 discs, while Within the woods was still on it, but once that went, there was no need for the second disc. ( Correct me if Im wrong here)

There is also a movie only version avalible, which doesnt have a fancy cover, just a normal amary one.

Plus- The commentries are exactly the same as the existing R1 and R2 versions. So are the behind the scenes footage (elite disc R1)

I heard this new release "Evil Dead" has some deleted scenes and easter eggs. What are those deleted scenes, I`m very curious.

I bought the first DVD release with just the film (in cardboard cover), now I wish I`d waited a bit longer for the new version to be released.

DVDan, I now realise what is actually available, but if you look at the above link then what is actually being released is not what was advertised.

I only ordered the Book last week from the above link (quick delivery by the way), I also spoke to someone on the phone (at the above company) who also told me that the version they were stocking was leather, ltd to 10,000 etc.

I have certainly got what I paid (double) for ,but not what I ordered (well under the impression of what I was ordering anyway!). It just peeves me a little that what they are supplying is not what they are (still) advertising!

Anyhoo, life goes on and I`ll live, but people are being mislead by such advertising.

P.S. Anil, it only gets wet after a few beers (accuracy goes out of the window then....so to speak!) ; )
